We also will ensure your calls are connected to the appropriate departments. In addition to accepting payments, we handle customer inquiries, complaints, set up new accounts, process service order requests, handle building permits and contractor licensing.

Billing Cycles
Utility Bills for water, wastewater and storm water are consolidated on one statement and mailed on a monthly basis depending on your property location. The city is divided into three billing cycles, the 5th, 15th and 25th and are due 20 days after the billing date.  

Payment Methods
The City accepts payments at our Customer Service Center in the form of cash, check, money order, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. Payments can also be paid by phone at 620-231-4100 with a credit or debit card, mailed to

Bank/Credit Card Draft
Payments may also be paid by automatic withdrawal from a checking, savings or credit card.  You will still receive a detailed copy of your bill each month showing the amount to be drafted.

Return Payment Fee’s
If a payment is returned insufficient, there will be a $35 fee added to your account. After the second return, your account may be removed from the draft plan or if paying by check we will only accept cash only.

Paperless Billing
By enrolling in our Paperless Billing Program, you’ll receive your monthly billing statement online instead of in the mail. After enrolling in our Paperless Billing Program, you will no longer receive a paper statement. Each month when your billing statement is ready for online viewing, you will receive an email notification. Click here to enroll.

Connecting Service
You may come to the office at 201 W 4th St, Pittsburg, Ks 66762 to establish service for maintenance or you may also do over the phone at 620-231-4100 with credit or debit card.  Customers that do not own their property will need to pay a $75 deposit at time of application. A turn on fee for inside city limits of $5.00 or $10 for outside city limits will be added to account.

Disconnecting Service
Utility service can be disconnected by phone at 620-231-4100 or at City Hall. Customers need to supply a forwarding address when disconnecting there service to receive a final bill or a deposit refund.  The deposit will be applied to the final bill and any remaining balance will be refunded to the customer.

Delinquent Accounts

f your account becomes delinquent, a 10% charge is added to your account and a termination notice is mailed. The notice allows 10 additional days from the original due date to pay the account in full or make an arrangement on your account prior to shut-off. If service is disconnected a $25 disconnect fee is required to be paid along with the delinquent bill before service can be reinstated.
