The Community Green Zone Advocacy Training was initially developed to help staff and faculty at a college know how to assist a Veteran student in transitioning to civilian life and obtain a degree with a career in mind. Flash forward to today, and the training is optimized for community transition.
Addressed within this version of the training are basic communications and interactions for veterans, questions not to ask, military culture familiarization and public friendly terminology. Additionally, best practices for forming community partnerships, how employers can best utilize Veteran-prevalent skillsets, how to assist a Veteran that is seeking help and where to send them, and much more.
