Join us on Thursday, March 28 at 5:30 pm for “Plan Pitt 150” and dream with us as we plan for Pittsburg’s sesquicentennial (150th anniversary) happening in 2026.
Sponsored by the Celebrate Pittsburg Committee, “Plan Pitt 150” is a community brainstorming event where Pittsburgians can share memories, ideas, inspiration, and input into the year-long celebration of our city.
This is a come-and-go event! Drop in, grab a snack, say hello, share your ideas, meet cool people, and find out more.
Let’s party like its 2026.

Who we are:
Celebrate Pittsburg is a group of representatives from across the community, in cooperation with the City of Pittsburg, that is leading support for Pittsburg’s sesquicentennial celebration.
Why we’re here:
In 2026, Pittsburg will celebrate its 150th birthday. This is a significant milestone for our city, and, importantly, provides an opportunity for us to tell a story of resilience and progress. Though the faces and places change, Pittsburg’s original spirit and values remain and will forever shape our path forward. We know our founding day is May 20, though the vision for the sesquicentennial is a year-long celebration with broad community buy-in and participation.
What we’re doing:
We are in the early stages of planning, and beginning to outline what the year could look like. Celebrate Pittsburg will organize the anchor sesquicentennial celebration events, and will also lead creation of a brand and infrastructure for involvement, provide a hub of support of participating organizations, and coordinate promotion and publicity for all activities and projects.
