City Compost Site Temporary Closed

PITTSBURG, KS – The City is preparing for construction-related activities for the new Wastewater Treatment Facility. As a result, the City will temporarily suspend operations of the compost site at the Wastewater Treatment Facility starting Monday, March 31, 2025.

The City is currently in the process of relocating the compost site and will inform the public of the new location and hours of operation once the transition is complete. This temporary suspension will last approximately 30 days.

As a reminder, for those enrolled in the City’s Solid Waste Service:

· Grass clippings must be in a bag to be picked up.

· We will pick up tree limbs. They must be bundled. Bundles can be a max of 2 feet in diameter by 4 feet long. Limbs cannot be bigger than 2 inches in diameter.
