City of Pittsburg announces list of events for February

PITTSBURG, KS – The City of Pittsburg is kicking off February with a list of events that are perfect for the extra-long winter this year!

On February 12, The Timeless Travelers are heading to the New Theatre & Restaurant in Overland Park. For 45 dollars, participants can enjoy a unique dining and entertainment experience, featuring incredible actors performing a production of Rumor. Camp Now & Then, which offers a safe, engaging, and fun environment for children ages 5 to 12, runs during the days when local schools are not in session. The program is open on February 14, 20, and 21 to anyone who registers. Camp is 20 dollars per day per child and runs from 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM. February 22 marks the return of the annual Snowball Softball Tournament. This double elimination tournament is for mixed team of seven to three, and has a 175 dollar sign up fee. To register your team, call 620-231-8310 or visit the Lincoln Center.

Join the SEK Humane Society on February 9 from 11 AM – 3 PM in the lower level of the Memorial Auditorium for their 48th Annual Chili Dinner! All proceeds from the event go to the animals at their shelter. Guests can buy an 8-dollar dinner meal that will include a bowl of chili, dessert, crackers, and a drink. The SEK Humane Society is also selling 15-dollar quarts of chili. The Chili Dinner will also have Bingo Blingo, which starts at 1 PM. Guests can sign up for 10 rounds of bingo for $10, with prizes supplied by Comeau Jewelry.
