- Burn Site Open, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm, 1.5 miles east of Rouse St. on Quincy St. The City of Pittsburg burn site is open once a month to residents needing to discard tree limbs and brush. No household trash, landscape timbers, treated wood accepted. Wood must be in natural form. Call (620) 232-PARK (7275) to check site status. Cost: Free. Sunday, August 12:
- Back to School Swim, 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm, at the Pittsburg Aquatic Center, 708 W. 9th St., Pittsburg, KS. Families are invited to celebrate the last day of the season at the aquatic center with our Back to School Swim! School-aged kids can swim for just $1. - Just off Broadway Musical Theatre Camp Begins, for students in grades six – 10. Camp runs August 12 – 26. This two-week intensive theatre workshop is designed for young dancers and actors.
