PITTSBURG, KS – During the meeting held Tuesday night, the Pittsburg City Commission moved forward with a $1.2 million land acquisition to expand its north industrial park.
The parcel located north of Atkinson and west of Free King Highway will add nearly 200 acres of land to Pittsburg’s north-east corner. The purchase is meant to help meet the growing demand for industrial space in the city.
“This property is crucial to our continued economic development efforts,” says Economic Development Director Blake Benson. “Over the past three years, we’ve received several requests for large tracts of land, located near city utilities and with rail access. This property checks all of those boxes and will be extremely attractive for future development.”
