City of Pittsburg seeks candidates for two open seats on the Sustainability Advisory Committee

PITTSBURG, KS – The City of Pittsburg is now accepting applications for candidates to fill two unexpired positions on the Sustainability Advisory Committee. Completed applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s office at City Hall by Wednesday, June 26, at 12:00 pm.
The terms of these two positions will end December 31, 2020. The new members will be eligible to begin their first terms in December of 2020, if they desire to continue to serve on the board. Candidates must have an interest in the promotion and establishment of sustainability issues and practices.
The Sustainability Advisory Committee advises city commissioners and staff with environmental protection, waste reduction, recycling, energy conservation, and natural resource conservation efforts. The group assists the City to identify and pursue potential funding sources to promote sustainability, and foster community participation for sustainability practices and programs.
