City seeks candidates for the Sustainability Advisory Committee

PITTSBURG, KS – The City of Pittsburg is now accepting applications for an open position on the Sustainability Advisory Committee. Once appointed, the candidate will fill an unexpired term on the committee, effective immediately and to expire on December 31, 2020.
The Sustainability Advisory Committee is a seven-person volunteer board that assists city commissioners and staff with future environmental protection, waste reduction, recycling, energy conservation, and natural resource conservation efforts. The group also assists the City to identify and pursue potential funding sources to promote sustainability, and foster community participation for sustainability practices and programs.
Meetings are held at City Hall on the second Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm.
Applicants are invited to attend the February 11, 2020, Pittsburg City Commission Meeting (5:30 pm at the Law Enforcement Center, 201 N. Pine St. in Pittsburg). Appointments to the committee will be made by the City Commission during this meeting.
