Click It or Ticket
City Press Releases, Police Department Press Release
June 14, 2021
From May 21, 2021 through May 31, 2021, the Pittsburg Police Department participated in the 2021 Kansas Click It or Ticket campaign. During this campaign, our department conducted overtime saturation patrols to aggressively enforce occupant restraint, texting, impaired driving, and other traffic laws. The overtime was paid for through a grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Officers working these saturation patrols conducted 200 traffic stops, resulting in forty-eight safety belt citations; four child restraint citations; five speeding citations; as well as, eight other citations and arrests.
According to Police Chief Brent Narges, “We are here to enforce Kansas Traffic Laws and ultimately, to decrease unsafe driving behavior. If you were stopped, we hope you learned from the experience. If so, we have made the roads a little safer for you and those you share the road with. We will continue to do that because, while the 2021 Click It or Ticket campaign may be over, traffic enforcement never is.”
The Pittsburg Police Department is dedicated to serving and protecting our community through active enforcement of traffic laws and through the prevention of criminal activity in our community. Anyone with information concerning criminal activity is urged to contact the Pittsburg Police Department at 620-231-1700, or at our tip line, 620-231-TIPS (8477). Callers may remain anonymous.
