Larissa Bowman named City of Pittsburg finance director

PITTSBURG, KS – The City of Pittsburg has appointed Larissa Bowman to serve as the city’s director of finance following the retirement of former director Jamie Clarkson. Bowman held the title of deputy city finance director since 2019 and began her new role in December of 2020.

“We are excited about Larissa continuing her excellent career in public service as our director of finance,” said City Manager Daron Hall. “Her skills and experience will serve the city well for many years to come.”

Bowman earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Pittsburg State University in 2005. No stranger to the world of public service, she previously served six years as deputy county clerk for Crawford County. Her strong financial background also includes working as an accountant at the State of Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services, and staff accountant for Diehl, Banwart & Bolton, CPA.
