PITTSBURG, KANSAS –
On Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Pittsburg Police Department will be a hosting site location for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. This offers citizens the opportunity to dispose of potentially dangerous, expired, unused or otherwise unwanted prescription medications.
The Drug Enforcement Administration announced its Fall Annual Take Back Day and the Pittsburg Police Department is excited to continue their involvement with this community safety initiative. With the 22nd National Take Back day on April 30, 2022, the Pittsburg Police Department assisted 85 other Kansas Law Enforcement participants with the collection of 7,196 pounds of medication. In total the State of Kansas has assisted in the collection of 233,374 pounds of medications in the previous 22 National Take Back events.
Anyone wishing to dispose of unwanted prescription medication is encouraged to bring them to the Pittsburg Police Department, located at 201 N. Pine St., Pittsburg, Kansas, on Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This service is free of charge and individuals can remain anonymous.
