PITTSBURG, KANSAS –
On Wednesday morning, April 5, 2023, at approximately 3:13 AM, law enforcement officers from the Pittsburg Police Department, as well as first responders from the Pittsburg Fire Department and Crawford County EMS, were called to the 1500 block of North Smelter Street, in Pittsburg, in reference to an individual who had been shot. The 23–year–old male victim reported he was shot by a known associate of his in the middle of the street in that area. The 23–year–old victim was taken by EMS to Ascension Via Christi and later transferred to a hospital in Missouri for treatment of non–life–threatening injuries. Officers are continuing to follow up with leads on this incident.
