One Fatality in Single-Vehicle Accident at Jefferson and Rouse

PITTSBURG, KS – The Pittsburg Fire Department, in collaboration with the Pittsburg Police Department, Crawford County EMS, and Kansas Highway Patrol, responded to a single-vehicle accident at Jefferson and Rouse at 5:45 PM on December 23, 2024.

Reports indicated that the vehicle collided with a tree and caught fire, with possible entrapment. The Pittsburg Fire Department dispatched three apparatus and 10 personnel to the scene. Quint 3 was the first to arrive, confirming entrapment and initiating a fire attack.

The fire was extinguished and the victim was confirmed deceased at the scene.

No names are being released at this time pending notification of family.
