Pittsburg-based Atkinson Industries, Inc. to Celebrate 100 Years in Business

PITTSBURG, KS – A company founded in Pittsburg, Kansas a century ago will celebrate 100 years in business this week. On Thursday, October 17, at 11:00 am, Atkinson Industries, Inc., d/b/a “AZZ” will host a celebration event at their Pittsburg location for its 130 employees, partners, neighbors, and community members to attend.

Jeremy Hoffman, General Manager of AZZ’s Pittsburg facility said “This is a big milestone for AZZ and the City of Pittsburg. It’s not every day a company can say they’ve been in business for 100 years. We are pleased to receive recognition of this achievement from the City of Pittsburg, and invite the community to our facility as we celebrate this event.”

The 100 Year Anniversary event will begin with remarks by Ken Lavelle, President of AZZ Electrical Systems, and will include a proclamation from City of Pittsburg Mayor Patrick O’Bryan. Following the formal ceremony, guests are invited to stay and meet the mayor while enjoying refreshments, and tours of AZZ’s 100,000 square foot facility.
