Report of immediate road closure – East Jefferson

PITTSBURG, KS – The City of Pittsburg along with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s Surfacing Mining Office is closing East Jefferson Street between Smelter Street and Stilwell Street. Truck traffic to the industrial park should enter from Rouse Street.  This closure is expected to remain in effect over the next couple of weeks as crews work to replace a portion of the street that has been removed.

Advance notification signs will be in place during construction.  Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes when possible, to use extreme caution when traveling in the area of construction, and be aware of workers in the work zone.
