Speed limit change coming for Centennial Drive

The Governing Body, in its meeting of February 13, 2018, adopted Ordinance No. G-1278, setting the maximum speed limit on Centennial Drive between California Street and the east city limits from 40 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour. This change is being made to create a uniform speed for Centennial Drive and address safety concerns related to the Safe Routes to Schools Crossing at Centennial and Homer.

Traffic and communications crews have prepared and installed the new 35 miles per hour speed limit signs on Centennial Drive. However, the new speed limit will not be enforced until Monday, June 18.
