Stolen Vehicle recovered in 13 minutes

On Friday morning, June 11, 2021, at 06:24 a.m., law enforcement officers from the Pittsburg Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of S. Elm St., in Pittsburg, for a stolen vehicle report.
The victim reported he witnessed a white female with long white hair get into his 2021 Nissan Altima and drive away. The victim had a video doorbell system, which showed the female approach the door of the residence. The female then took the house and vehicle keys, which had been left in the exterior lock of the door. By the video, officers were able to identify the suspect as 55-year-old Tammy Sue Wells, of Pittsburg.
At approximately 06:37 a.m., an officer observed the Nissan Altima driving north on Broadway St., and a traffic stop was conducted in the 100 block of W. 1st St. Tammy Wells was identified as the driver, and she was subsequently taken into custody without incident. It was found that Mrs. Wells had taken the vehicle through the McDonald’s drive through, and purchased breakfast before being apprehended. Mrs. Wells was arrested for felony theft, and was transported to the jail at the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office for booking. She is currently being held in lieu of a $3,000.00 bond.
