Toby Book appointed director of parks and recreation

PITTSBURG, KS – The City of Pittsburg has appointed Toby Book as Director of Parks and Recreation. Book will take over for Kim Vogel who previously held the position, and recently took over as the Human Resources Director.

“Toby has an outstanding record of service to the City.” said City Manager Daron Hall. “We want to thank him for his willingness to step into this new role. He has done an excellent job as interim director and will continue to lead the parks and recreation team into the future.”

Book has worked for the city for more than 24 years, seven of those years as parks superintendent.
