Westar Relocation Outage

Westar Energy is currently working to relocate electric distribution connections serving the homes and businesses along South Rouse in preparation for the City’s South Rouse Reconstruction Project. This will effect approximately 225 customers throughout the week. Westar Energy has mailed outage notification letters last week for most of the customers, however, our team walked the neighborhoods and hand delivered letters to those that will be affected today.

Work is scheduled to occur Monday, December 4 through Wednesday, December 6 starting around 9:00 am  and lasting a duration of roughly 4 hours. During that time, Westar will be transferring services from the old distribution lines to the newly constructed lines. Thursday’s outage (December 7) will take slightly longer, approximately six hours. Neighborhoods will be without power during this process.
