Holiday Art Market
Nov. 30 from 10AM-1PM at Frisco Event Center
The Holiday Art Market is back! This annual event showcases local artists, providing them with an opportunity to display and sell their handmade artworks during the holiday season. The market typically features a wide range of art forms including visual art, fine crafts, jewelry, ceramics, photography, and more. It’s a great place for people to purchase unique, one-of-a-kind gifts while supporting local artists and the community!
This holiday themed shopping event will be held on Small Business Saturday, from 10am to 1pm at the Frisco Event Center located at 210 E 4th St in the Pittsburg Arts District. Light refreshments and punch will be served.
Shoppers can begin their shopping excursion by picking up their “passports” at the Holiday Art Market.
Pittsburg Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony
Nov. 30 at 6:30PM at Pritchett Pavilion
To conclude Small Business Saturday, the City of Pittsburg and Downtown Pittsburg will host the annual Community Tree-Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 pm at Pritchett Pavilion in Downtown Pittsburg, located at the corner of 2nd & Broadway. This event is free to attend and open to everyone.
A festive holiday program is scheduled for 6:30 pm with celebrity emcee Dowe Quick leading the charge. Other special additions this year include vocal performances from St. Mary’s Colgan Elementary School Choir, a dance performance from BTC Athletics & Dance, and live music performed by Pittsburg Hispanic Banda.
Food vendors for this year’s event will include the Nutty Bavarian, Ron’s Supermarket, and TOAST. Nutty Bavarian will sell their signature roasted nuts and holiday-flavored popcorn; Ron’s Supermarket is giving away free hot cocoa, cookies, and milk; and TOAST will be selling spiked and regular hot cider.
Following a tree-lighting countdown, Santa Claus will hand out candy canes and take photos with families. Surprise characters and special guests may also be in attendance, so don’t miss the fun.
The beautiful 20-foot lighted tree will remain at Pritchett Pavilion throughout the holiday season for everyone to enjoy. Thanks to the generosity of local foundations, donors, and sponsorships, the tree is growing four feet this year, and lights, garland, ribbons, and wreaths will be added to Pritchett Pavilion for the holidays.
The City of Pittsburg would like to thank the following businesses and contributors for their support of the Pittsburg Community Tree-Lighting Ceremony in 2023 and 2024:
- Nancy G. Miller
- Pittsburg Beautiful
- Earles Engineering & Inspection
- Explore Crawford County
- GN Bank
- Ron’s Supermarket
- Kelly’s Pittsburg Painting
- Ryan Insurance
The star on the tree is dedicated in memory of Nancy G. Miller.
The City of Pittsburg and Downtown Advisory Board thanks all these generous organizations and individuals, along with the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas for their partnership to raise funds for the tree.
